The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Nigeria donates two million naira materials to Benue Internally displaced persons IDP’s.
Performing the function on behalf of the delegation, Laurent De Boeck at the Ichwa IDP camp, expressed their full support for the Benue State Government’s initiatives to resettle and rebuild areas affected by forced displacement.
Items donated include mattresses, gallons, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking utensils, and buckets, among others.
De Boeck said the non-food items were to support the IDPs while still in the camps while the State Government and development partners executed the durable solutions

He emphasized that the United Nations (UN), the IOM, and the North East Ambassadors Group share a collective interest in supporting the government’s efforts to bring peace and provide durable solutions to Benue State’s humanitarian crises.
“We stand in support of Governor Alia’s administration regarding the durable solutions to internal displacement in Benue,” he noted.
At the Ichwa IDP camp, the Governor of Benue State, H.E. Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, who was ably represented by his deputy, Sam Ode and the Acting Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, James Iorpuu, expressed delight over the wide range of interventions provided for the IDPs.
The governor also received and flagged off the distribution of dignity kits to the IDPs at Ichwa camp.
