Operatives of Benue State Civil Protection Guards have arrested two suspects for vandalizing over 100 doors at the School of Aviation, at Welfare Quarters, Makurdi.
In an interview with journalists, the suspects confessed to their crime, stating that one had escaped with 6 doors vandalized, making 29 doors from the Aviation school.
“We stole 29 doors there. One of us escaped with 6 doors. We went at midnight one of the suspects said.
“We are the ones that stole the doors at the School of Aviation. This is the second time we went there,” the other said.

The Security Adviser to the Benue State Government, Joseph Har and Commander of the State Civil Protection Guard, Captain Ajovbi Ayuma Rtd, both described the act as worrisome, saying the suspects will be prosecuted after investigation is completed, assuring that the one at large must also be brought to book.
“This morning, through an intelligent report, it came to our knowledge that this is going on. We went after them and recovered about 23 doors. The other one ran away with 6 doors into the community. But we are surely going after him,” Har said.
Commander of Civil Protection Guard, Rtd. Captain Ajovbi however pleaded with citizens of the state to always report suspected movement to security agents close to them. “I am appealing to every citizen of Benue State. That if you see something that is wrong, don’t keep quiet, alert security agencies. We are for you. The Civil Protection Guard is close to the communities. You can call us anytime,” Ajovbi said.
