The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Benue has elected new state working committee with the former member of House of Representative, Ezekiel Adaji as the chairman.
Chairman of the electoral committee, Alhaji Shaba Ibrahim, said Ezekiel Adaji scored 2482 votes and was declared winner.
With his emergence, he now heads the new 27-member State Executive Committee of the party elected with him.
The leader of Benue State PDP Congress Electoral Committee led by Alh. Ibrahim Shaba announced the elected officials.
Other officials elected at the state congress alongside with the chairman includes ; State Secretary, Comrade Dan Nyikwagh, State Public Secretary, Hon Tim Nyor, Youth Leader, Ibya Terkimbi and Women leader, Mrs. Alice Albert amongst others.
They were immediately sworn in by the Caretaker committee Legal officer, Barr Friday Ejembi.
In his acceptance speech on behalf of the newly inaugurated State Working Committee SWC, Adaji said he was overwhelmed by the massive show of support given to them by members of the party.

“Our state is in need of leadership and my state EXCO will not disappoint the party to ensure it bounced back to power.
“We are going to hit the ground running and we shall reconcile all aggrieved members of the party as we intend to set up a reconciliation committee immediately,” he said.
Alh .Shaba said they had a total delegates list of 2,910 and 2,900 were accredited for the state congress election.
Meanwhile, the newly elected Deputy Chairman of the party, Azua Avough Ashongo has expressed profound gratitude to the leader of the Party, PDP, in Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Abba Moro, members of the G-14 led by Dr. Laha Dzever,Chief David Amo and the entire members of the G-14 for finding him worthy to serve in that position.
Hon. Ashongo in a statement, also appreciated all delegates of the PDP to the State Congress in Makurdi and the entire members of the PDP in Benue State for the privilege of service given to him.
He promised to repay the gesture with quality service to the benefit of the party.
Ashongo said as the new leadership begins the process of rebuilding the party, he and other members of the State Executive Committee(SEC) shall be counting on the people”s support to ensure the party returns to power in 2027.
He also used the opportunity to appeal to aggrieved members of the party to lay down their swords so that they can talk as a family and resolve all contending issues and move together as a family.
Stressing that the unity and success of the PDP remains his number one priority.
