Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasaray, is at the center of a controversy following an alleged incident with a journalist. According to Turkish media outlet Posta, the talented forward reportedly assaulted a reporter outside an entertainment venue in Turkey, where he had been with friends. The situation apparently escalated when Osimhen, upset by the journalist’s presence, responded aggressively. Tolga Bozduman, the journalist involved, has since shared his account of the incident.
“I was filming Osimhen as he exited, accompanied by three colleagues. When the camera flashes stopped, he became furious. He rushed towards me, shouting, and attempted to grab my camera. When I refused to let go, he punched me. It still hurts. Then he started swearing and said, ‘Destroy the photos, I’ll give you money.’ I refused, and he threatened me, saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.’”
Neither Galatasaray nor Osimhen has released an official statement addressing the incident.
Osimhen has been remarkable with Galatasaray with 15 goals and six assists already this season for the Turkish giants.
