Burial Program of Ortom’s Brother released

The burial arrangements for Mr Bernard Tyozenda Ortom, the immediate younger brother of the former Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, have been formally announced.
Bernard Ortom, born on December 11, 1962, passed away on March 19, 2025. The funeral rites have been scheduled to take place over three days, beginning on April 1, 2025.
In statement by Sir Robert Faga Ortom on behalf of the family Burial Programme is as follows:
Day One – Tuesday, April 1, 2025:
The first wake will be held at the residence of the deceased, located near Rameti School, off Gabriel Suswam Road, Nyorgyungu, Makurdi, Benue State.
Day Two – Wednesday, April 2, 2025:
The remains of Mr. Bernard Ortom will be moved from Bishop Murray Memorial Hospital, Makurdi, for a Requiem Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Nyorgyungu, at 9:00 AM.
Following the Mass, the body will depart for Gbajimba, Guma Local Government Area, with a brief stop-over at the Nyorgyungu residence of the deceased. Upon arrival in Gbajimba, the body will be taken to St. Athanasius Catholic Church after a brief stop-over at the deceased’s residence in Gbajimba.
The same Wednesday, an all-night wake will be held in Gbajimba to honor the memory of Mr. Bernard Ortom.
Day Three – Thursday, April 3, 2025:
A final Mass will be conducted at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Gbajimba, at 9:00 AM.
At 11:00 AM, the body will be moved to Tse-Ortom Adorogo, Guma LGA, for interment.
