Suspected armed herdsmen have reportedly kidnapped the wife of a kindred head and two other women in Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident occurred along the Unande Km4 Naka-Adoka-Ankpa road.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the women were abducted by gun-wielding Fulani herdsmen while returning from the farm.
“On Monday at 1:00 pm, three women who were returning from the farm were kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen along the Naka-Adoka-Ankpa road.
Some of the kidnappers were covering their faces, while others weren’t.
“We suspect that those covering their faces are conveying his son on a motorcycle, which ran into the armed men after Akpanaja.
The whereabouts of his son are still unknown because he was not found at the scene of the attack,” a witness said.
The spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, CSP Catherine Anene, has not responded to calls or text messages sent to her telephone as of the time of filing this report.
