Dangote refinery plans crude import, projects 650,000bpd June

The Dangote Petrochemicals Refinery has implemented another reduction in the ex-gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, bringing it below the previously announced rate of N835 per litre.
According to sources on Monday, the refinery is now effectively selling petrol at N825 per litre by offering a N10 rebate to customers after successful loading of the product. While marketers initially pay N835 per litre, they receive the N10 refund upon evacuation of the fuel from the facility.
This discreet price adjustment enables Dangote’s customers and affiliated marketers to sell petrol at a slightly lower retail range of N830 to N835 per litre, giving them a competitive edge over import-dependent marketers and private depot operators.
The official said, “The Dangote refinery has started giving a rebate on its products. It’s not an official reduction yet, but paid back after marketers buy products from them.”
Last month, the Dangote Refinery implemented two price cuts within a single week, slashing its gantry price by N45—from N880 to N835 per litre.
The reduction came on the heels of the resumption and full enforcement of the Naira-for-Crude agreement with local refiners, which had previously been suspended.
Attempts to obtain an official response on the price adjustment from Dangote Group spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, were unsuccessful.
