The Executive Governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has assured 1,450 Batch B Corps Members deployed to the state of safety in the course of their national assignment.
The Governor who stated this during the Swearing – in and Oath taking Ceremony of the Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wannune ,Tarka Local Government Area, narrated that despite the high level of Insecurity in the country, he would ensure that the security of Corps Members is prioritized. “Let me quickly allay your fears and assure you that as a government, we are poised to ensuring that your security is guaranteed all through your stay in the state”, he stated.
The Governor further stated that the NYSC as a strategic Institution for nation building and national integration, has the full capacity to impact positively in the economic growth of Nigeria.
A statement by Yahuza Isa Adamu, Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations, NYSC, Benue State quoted the Governor, saying, “I urge you to follow the laudable footsteps of the founding fathers of the Scheme by contributing your quota to national development.
Speaking earlier, the Coordinator, NYSC Benue state, Mr. Abe Dankaro Ashumate welcomed all the guests and congratulated the Corps Members for their successful mobilisation to national service.

He commended His Excellency, Gov. Alia for his magnanimity, love and goodwill.
He particularly thanked the Governor for accommodating the 2024 Batch A, stream 2 Corps Members for a day at Government House after the orientation course, and also appreciated the payment of State Allowance of Fifteen Thousand Naira(N15,000) on monthly basis to Corps Members and One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100 ,000) to Corps Doctors.
Mr. Abe further commended the Governor’s effort towards erosion control on camp through the release of funds for the commencement of construction of roads and drainages within the camp.
