The Police Service Commission approved the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers on Wednesday. This includes the promotions that took place earlier in the week: On Monday, 11 Commissioners of Police were promoted to Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of substantive Commissioners of Police (CPs). On Tuesday, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs, while 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) were moved up to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs).
In a statement on Wednesday, Ikechukwu Ani, the commission’s spokesperson, confirmed that a total of 8,053 senior officers, including 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs), were promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs). Additionally, 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were promoted to Superintendents, and 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) were elevated to DSPs.
Notable officers among the promoted include Anjuguri Manzah, DCO at Onne Port Division; Ihunwo Josephine, Zonal Public Relations Officer for Zone 13 Ukpo; Matilda Ngbaronye, former Public Information Officer for the African Union Mission in Somalia; former Deputy PPRO for Lagos State Command and former DPO of Ilupeju, currently DPO of Iponri; Opara Angela Precious, IGP Secretariat at Force Headquarters in Abuja; Ajaka Chinedu, Admin Officer at 44 PMF; Felix Ekpoudom, O/C Quick Intervention Unit in Akwa Ibom and former DPO of Eket; Ehinola Temitope Layomi, 2 PMF in Lagos; Okebugwu Eggbath Chidozie, DPO at Abakaliki Road; and Okereke Joy Onyedikachu, O/C Servicom at Enugu State Command.
Among the 876 DSPs promoted to Superintendents are Nnakwe Ugochukwu from Ebonyi State Command, Nioopwa Sondago, Fayiwole Julius Oluwadare, Chijioke Okoroafor, and Omotayo Olatunde.
