The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has felicitated the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume on his Seventy-first birthday anniversary, describing him as a statesman and leader who has made significant contributions to the development of the nation in his public service career.
Chief Ortom stated that Senator Akume has groomed and positioned countless people including technocrats, politicians and professionals in various fields, and his legacy of vision and mentorship will continue to positively impact on many lives.
He acknowledged that Senator Akume’s journey in public service has been outstanding.
According to Chief Ortom, as a former Governor of Benue State and a three-time Senator who represented the Benue North West Senatorial District, Minister of the Federal Republic and now SGF, Senator Akume has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the welfare of his people and the country.
The former Governor affirmed that as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Akume’s role has been pivotal in enabling the administration of President Bola Tinubu to confront the challenging economic situation in the country.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Terver Akase former Governor prayed that God grants the SGF many more years of good health, happiness, and continued success.
