Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has publicly distanced himself from the ongoing feud between Burna Boy and Speed Darlington. During an Instagram live session, he made it clear that he would not get involved in the controversy.
Kuti, who had received diamond jewelry from Burna Boy, clarified that the gift did not mean he was serving as Burna Boy’s adviser. He emphasized his neutral stance in the matter and refused to take sides.
The singer also pointed out the irony in Speed Darlington’s accusations against Burna Boy, noting that Diddy, the American music executive central to the dispute, had played a significant role in launching Speed Darlington’s career.
“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy & Speed Darlington’s case; because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser. Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular.
“He reposted ‘Bangdadang’ which made the song popular. I have done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” he said.
