Osimhen sets Turkish transfer record, €70m above second

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been hailed as the driving force behind Galatasaray’s title bid, with renowned Turkish football analyst Emre Bol sharply criticizing the rest of the team for their lack of effort and commitment. In a passionate commentary shared on the Ekol Sports YouTube channel, Bol boldly asserted that Osimhen has essentially carried the team on his own throughout the season.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan during the summer transfer window, the Super Eagles star has been nothing short of outstanding, playing a pivotal role in propelling the club to the top of the Turkish League standings. With an impressive tally of 22 goals and six assists in just 28 appearances, Osimhen’s impact has been undeniable.
“For weeks, Victor Osimhen has been carrying Galatasaray,” Bol stated unequivocally.
“The others are not showing any effect. Other players do not show half the fight of Osimhen, who is on loan.”
The Turkish pundit did not hold back in his criticism of the rest of the squad saying, “There is no running, no fighting, no head-butting of the kick.”
Bol believes that Victor Osimhen has set a level of performance and passion that his teammates have consistently failed to match. His comments reflect growing frustration among fans and analysts who have seen Galatasaray’s momentum falter despite Osimhen’s heroic individual efforts.
Coach Okan Buruk is now under mounting pressure to find ways to inspire and motivate his players to match the intensity and dedication that Osimhen brings to every match.
The Nigerian striker’s impact has been nothing short of transformative. Since his arrival in Turkey following a series of failed transfer attempts last summer, Osimhen has quickly become the heart of Galatasaray’s attack, delivering performances that have kept the team’s title hopes alive. On several occasions, his goals have salvaged vital points, including his brace in the 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in their last match.
According to Bol, Osimhen’s work rate, positioning, and unrelenting drive have highlighted a lack of similar commitment from his teammates. His individual brilliance has been crucial, but it’s clear that the team is becoming too reliant on his contributions. While Osimhen’s efforts are deserving of praise, the absence of comparable dedication from other players could jeopardize Galatasaray’s long-term title ambitions, especially with Fenerbahce trailing just four points behind the leaders.
