Alia to Trade 3000 Job Slots for Support in 2026
…Tells Politicians to Submit Names to Party Ward Chairmen
Benue State Government has promised to trade 3000 teaching jobs for support, urging politicians to be ready with their lists before January next year.
This is contained in a statement by the Governor’s Point-man for Gwer-East, Engr. David Nongo during the mega decamping ceremony at St. Francis Primary School, Aliade where people of different political parties dumped their parties for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
He stated that: “the Governor has said I should tell you that he recruited 9000 teachers on merit, but this time, he is going to recruit 3000 teachers which is going to be strictly an affair of politicians.”
The erstwhile Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, NEPZA boss who directed that names of applicants should be submitted to party ward chairmen stated that government has decided to compensate politicians for the support it enjoyed from them, saying it is high time wives and children of politicians had something doing.
Reacting to the statement, a social critic, Torgba Shagba said it is laughable for government to make such a careless statement, reiterating that government is not meant for a particular section of people neither are jobs for unqualified people or for compensation if the government wants to be effective.
