The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Makurdi Branch, has applauded Agate Radio for its professional coverage of engineering related matters in the news.
The Chairman, Calendar Committee of the NSE Makurdi Branch, Engineer Ahmed Usman, gave the commendation Tuesday, when he led other members of the Committee, Engineers Amaka Anyanwu and Mark Yoo on a visit to the station’s headquarters to present the Society’s Twenty-twenty-four Calendar to the General Manager of the station.
Speaking, Engineer Usman stated that they chose Agate Radio because of its quality reportage of engineering matters, describing the station as the one of fastest medium to reach the society.
He lauded Agate Radio for providing a platform for Engineers to share insights with the public on variety of technical issues, stating that as professionals, they are willing to share their knowledge whenever called upon.
According to him, the Makurdi Branch Chairman of the NSE, Engineer Ukeyima Manger had demonstrated interest in showcasing the professional expertise of members of the Society since coming on board, adding that the media remains critical partners in that regard.
Responding, the General Manager Agate Radio and Television, Mr. Igba Ogbole, acknowledged the profound role of Engineers in the society, describing the Engineering profession as one of the noble ones in the society that it is critical to infrastructure development in diverse ways.
Mr. Ogbole lauded the Nigerian Society of Engineers for recognising the station’s efforts in offering quality broadcasting and charged the Society to remain committed to maintaining and enforcing standards in the profession.
Also speaking, Head of News and Current Affairs of the Station, Mr. Nathaniel Nongu, thanked the NSE team for identifying with Agate Radio, stating that the station has occasionally drawn its resource persons from the NSE and called for sustained relationship between the Society and the station to further enlighten the public.
