The Visioner of Agate Radio, Television and Newspaper, Makurdi has donated branded multipurpose portable digital radio monitoring sets to staff of the media group as part of deliberate efforts to motivate them towards greater professionalism and productivity.
Distributing the radio sets to the staff on Wednesday, the General Manager of the media organisation, Igba Ogbole, called for full commitment to excellence given the conducive work environment and the incentives being provided for the workers.
Mr Ogbole emphasised that in view of the commitment the Founder has demonstrated towards their welfare since the establishment of the media outlets, the staff have a moral obligation to reciprocate the kind gesture by giving of their best for the growth of the organisation.
He pointed out that for the media platforms to uphold their status as the voice of the people, the staff must continue to work hard, be creative, and professional at all times, adding that Agate Radio, Television and Newspaper must continue to be for everybody without discrimination, in line with the repeated mandate of the Founder.
While expressing gratitude for the gift of the radio sets, the General Manager assured the staff that their welfare would continue to be a priority, but that they must justify the gesture by working conscientiously to grow the media group to become the envy of all and sundry.
Responding on behalf of the staff, one of the Duty Continuity Presenters, Shidoo Tarkaa, lauded the Founder for the kind gesture, noting that the decision to present the high-quality radio sets to staff would further spur them to intensify their efforts in serving the people.
Miss Tarkaa who noted that, unto whom much is given, much is expected, promised that the staff would put the gadget to judicious use, and urged the Visioner to keep up with his good deeds to humanity.
Correspondent reports that the Agate Radio and Television branded digital radio monitoring set has one hundred and forty preset radio stations, and also functions as a mini recorder.
