The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Benue State, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has appointed Dr. Augustine Laha Dzever as the Director General of the Aondoakaa/Ogbenjuwa Campaign Organization ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Dzever, a renowned administrator, grassroots mobiliser and PDP stalwart from Buruku Local Government Area, is the Chairman of the PDP G-14. He is also a former Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), where he was recognised for his administrative experience, public service and contribution to education.
Announcing the appointment, Aondoakaa described Dzever as a “tested leader, bridge-builder and strategist” with the capacity to coordinate a statewide campaign, unite party members, mobilise supporters and take the PDP’s “BENUE FIRST” message to communities across the state.
He added that Dzever possesses the capacity to liaise with the Strategic Alliance and the Rainbow Coalition in pursuit of the campaign’s objectives.
According to the PDP candidate, the appointment reflects the campaign’s commitment to assembling a team of competent, experienced and credible individuals who share its vision of building a secure, prosperous and inclusive Benue.
Aondoakaa expressed confidence that the new Campaign Director General would deploy his political experience, organisational skills and understanding of grassroots politics in steering the campaign.
The candidate also disclosed that other members of the campaign organisation would be announced after consultations with the PDP leader in the state, former Governor Samuel Ortom; the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Abba Moro; the state executive committee of the party and other critical stakeholders.
Aondoakaa thanked PDP leaders, stakeholders and members for their support and called for sustained unity to strengthen what he described as the movement for a “New Benue”, anchored on security, economic prosperity, efficient healthcare services, quality education and opportunities for all.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement signed by James Ian, Media Assistant to Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, and dated September 28, 2026.
