Zaamo Transports on Tuesday launched a new initiative, “Zaamo Closer,” at the company’s head office in Makurdi to make its services more accessible and convenient for passengers travelling between Makurdi and Abuja.
Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zaamo Transports, Vershima Ipevnor, said the initiative was introduced to add greater value to the company’s services, attract more customers, sustain its market presence and strengthen its position in the transport industry.
He explained that under the initiative, passengers travelling between Makurdi and Abuja would have access to designated pickup and drop-off points located closer to their destinations.
Ipevnor said passengers travelling from Makurdi to Abuja would be dropped off at designated convenient locations, while those travelling from Abuja to Makurdi would be able to board from the same locations.
He listed the initial pickup and drop-off points in Abuja as; opposite Glory Dome and ShopRite, for passengers from Lugbe; Gwarinpa Bridge/Setraco Gate, for passengers from Gwarinpa; and opposite NNPC Junction, for passengers from Kubwa.
Also speaking, the Operations Manager of Zaamo Transports, Alice Ene Ichukwu, said the initiative was introduced in response to feedback from passengers who had complained about the additional expenses incurred in locating the company’s main park in Abuja, stating that Zaamo Closer was designed to bring the company’s services closer to passengers and save them the stress and cost of travelling long distances within Abuja to access the park.
Ichukwu urged passengers to take advantage of the initiative, describing it as a safer and more cost-effective option, assuring customers that Zaamo Transports would continue to introduce services that would improve their travel experience, comfort and convenience.
A passenger, Tersugh Solomon, who travelled from Makurdi to Lugbe, commended the company for the initiative, saying it would help passengers save the additional costs associated with paying for transportation from the company’s park to their destinations in Abuja.
He described the initiative as a welcome development that would make travelling with Zaamo Transports more convenient for passengers.
